Free Tibetan Language Lessons & Buddhist Teachings for Tibetans in the UK PDF Print E-mail

The study of our language is considered as an important gateway to understanding of our roots, culture and philosophy. Since 1995, the Tibet House Trust has been running and providing Tibetan Language lessons for Tibetan children in the UK. Classes are held on alternate Saturdays at Tibet House, London. This educational service is freely provided to all Tibetan school children.(Snacks and drinks provided.)

Mrs Tsetan Yangzom la is a well qualified Tibetan language teacher, who has a great deal of teaching experience with kids. Children are grouped by age and proficiency in the subject and each group is
taught for about an hour from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm for senior; and 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm for junior group.

At the 48th anniversary of TCV School (Dharamsala), His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave a very important address during which our supreme Leader re-emphasised on the importance of learning Tibetan
language and preserving our own unique culture.

Our Tibetan parents and concerned parties have important roles to play to help our young Tibetan children to educate our language and culture. Therefore, the Council of Tibetan Community in Britain
would like to encourage our Tibetan parents to make special effort to help to educate your children by bringing them to receive the free Tibetan language class, who is being offered by Tibet House Trust.

The Tibet House Trust also organised a Buddhist lesson for Tibetans in UK to understand the reasoning and historical background to some of our faiths and religious customs. The Venerable Geshe Tashi la, the resident teacher of Jamyang Buddhist Centre, London will kindly teach it in Tibetan. We welcome everyone.
